1. Is Etails customizable?
Absolutely! With Etails, you decide how many
Folders of information you want to maintain. You decide which pieces of
information are important to you. The information is positioned on the screen in
the order that you specify. You specify the name of each piece of information.
You decide what order the information is sorted and how it is printed.
Much more customization is available!
2. Can I have more than one set of details?
Yes. You can define multiple folders of details.
You may define each folder differently. Folders may be cover areas such as punch
lists, inspection logs, job diaries, and check lists.
3. Do I need a dedicated desktop PC to synchronize with the Palm
Pilots?
No. Etails utilizes a sophisticated multi-user synchronization
algorithm. Choose which PC will contain the master database, and everyone can
synchronize to it. The chosen PC need not be dedicated to Etails.
4. Does each Palm Pilot user have to be physically located at the
PC when they synchronize?
No. Synchronization with the master database can
occur from anywhere by using remote synchronization. Infrared wireless
synchronization is also available.
5.
How do the lists of details gathered in the field get distributed to the
responsible parties?
First, the details are synchronized to the master
database on the desktop. This is accomplished with the standard synchronization
routine (i.e. pressing the HotSync button on the Palm Pilot cradle). Once this
is accomplished, you have complete control over how the lists of details are
distributed. You decide whether the lists are e-mailed, faxed, or printed.
6. Which Palm OS devices will Etails run on?
Click this link for a listing of supported
PDAs. When viewing this file, note that Etails currently runs only on
Palm OS devices. A device designated with the word "Certified" means that
it has been tested by the manufacturer. The word "Supported" means that it
is supported, but not necessarily fully tested on that device.
