Static Pile analysis technical specs

Static Pile Analysis is a finite-element modeling program for soil-structure interaction problems.  While often used to determine behavior of a pile, the program can also be used to analyze poles/posts, sheet piles, walls and just about any other structure that relies on lateral soil support and/or skin friction for stability.

Static Pile is an advanced structural engineering program that includes a wide range of non-linear behavior.  However, the program is so simple use, that its only 3 input dialog boxes!

Key program features include:

  • Skin friction with depth-dependent slip threshold and friction pressure.
  • Depth-dependent horizontal subgrade modulus with non-linear profile.
  • Depth-dependent soil plastic limit.
  • Vertical subgrade modulus at pile tip.
  • The pile need not be flush with the ground level, allowing for the analysis of poles and posts.
  • Loads include vertical, horizontal and moments applied to the top of the pile.
  • Input load steps to study how the pile behaves with increasing load and identify the load level that initiates non-linear behavior.
  • The analysis report includes the pile’s deflection profile, moment diagram, shear diagram for each load step.
  • Load-deflection plots for the pile top.

  • Moment diagram for the pile at maximum load step.
  • Displacement and moment plots can be exported to a DXF file.
  • Digital Canal’s Static Pile can be bought separately—you don’t need to buy a “structural system” or “engineering library” to get started.
  • Reports are in Microsoft Word format (RTF) giving you unequalled portability, convenience, longevity and control.
  • Flexible unit controls allow for US or metric calculations.
  • User defined “default data” helps you eliminate redundant inputs from one design to the next.
  • Simple file format—only one file per project, which can be opened and saved in typical Windows fashion.
