Accurately calculate area, lengths, and counts
Digital Takeoff allows you to specify what information you want to calculate.  Capable of calculating areas, lengths, and counts, the amount of information you want to calculate is endless.

Rafters
Easily calculate rafter lengths without a roof framing plan. After tracing an area, simply specify the rafter orientation, spacing, and slope for that area. Digital Takeoff automatically calculates and displays the length of each rafter on your plan.

Curved Images
Digital Takeoff also supports curved images. With just three clicks, Digital Takeoff accurately calculates and displays the measurements of the curved object. It doesn’t get much easier than this!

Continuous Trace
Trace more information is less time! The continuous trace command allows you to trace multiple objects without exiting the command. When finished, Digital Takeoff will display the quantities for all traced objects. This feature alone will save hours per job.

Magnify
Get pinpoint accuracy with the magnify command. Instead of zooming into each point you wish to select, use the magnify command. Digital Takeoff automatically magnifies your drawing allowing you to select your exact point without clicking to zoom in and then clicking to zoom back out.

Fully integrated with BidBuilder
Use Digital Takeoff to figure your takeoff quantities 200% faster than by hand or even with a digitizer pad. Then with 1 click send this information into the BidBuilder estimating software to accurately figure the amount of material required and create your proposals.

Fully integrated with Excel
If you currently use Excel for estimating, let Digital Takeoff assist you in calculating your lineal and square footages.  Any information calculated in Digital Canal's takeoff software can easily be sent to an Excel spreadsheet.

Plan Folder
Digital Takeoff’s plan folder allows you to easily and quickly switch from one drawing to another keeping you organized and fast since switching between drawings is a one-click task.

Command Line
Digital Takeoff includes a command line conveniently located next to your cursor. This prompts you with what to do depending on the command so you never have to wonder what to do next .

Labels
Easily view your measurements with automatic labels. After you trace a length or area, Digital Takeoff will display the measurement totals next to the image. This feature is ideal for recalling measurements from previously traced objects.

Notes
Digital Takeoff also includes a notes command that allows you to place any miscellaneous notes. Whether it is a note about the plan or the estimate, this feature allows you to add extra notes to ensure nothing gets missed or misinterpreted.

Level, Crop, & Rotate
Whether you need to straighten up a skewed scanned blueprint, rotate a drawing, or crop an image, Digital Takeoff has multiple image editing tools assure you get the image your need.

Freehand Images
Easily and accurately measure odd shapes with the Freehand command. Simply outline any irregular shape with your mouse, and Digital Takeoff will accurately calculate the totals.

Hotkeys
Decrease your estimating time with hotkeys. Digital Takeoff supports the ability to set hotkeys to execute a command instead of clicking on an icon. Using hotkeys can shave hours of time off your takeoff / estimating time.

Joists
Easily calculate joists lengths without a floor framing plan. After tracing an area, simply specify the joists orientation and spacing for that area. Digital Takeoff automatically calculates and displays the length of each joist on your plan.

Grips
Digital Takeoff automatically adds grips to your traced objects. These grips can be moved around the drawing changing the shape and quantities of your traced object.

Subtract Openings
Easily subtract quantities from your plan to accommodate for doors and windows. Simply enter the opening size and drop it onto your plan. Digital Takeoff automatically deducts for the lengths and area of the opening.

Reports
Easily review your quantity totals with reports. Digital Takeoff automatically generates reports displaying all your digitized measurements. Use these reports to review your work or to hold subcontractors accountable.

Layer Manager
Digital Takeoff’s layer manager provides a convenient location to set and view your layer calculations. At all times, the layer manager displays your current layer as well as a running total of your traced measurements. This allows you to keep tabs on your measurements as you work.

Reads eighty different file formats
Digital Takeoff is capable of reading eighty different file formats including .jpg, .pdf, .bmp, .gif, .tif, .CAD, .png, and many other common file types.

Utilize digital camera pictures or a scanner
With Digital Takeoff, you can open and use pictures from a digital camera.  Whether you take a picture of a hard copy set of plans or take of picture of an existing house for a remodel job, simply open the image and start tracing.
